method: list printed from msword. collage over a tissue-painted background. Small ephemera added in. Piece is incomplete. Waiting for me to finish it. Words in upper right are rub-on letters, purchased at Office Max
Twenty things I love to do:
- make zines.
- brainstorm. for anything.
- organizing. One wouldn't know it by looking at my stuff, but I love doing it.
- napping in my new sheets.
- window shopping.
- watching foreign movies with Ordell, since they bore H.
- driving in the car, listening to oldies music on the radio.
- reading a really, really good book.
- people-watching. especially at outdoor restaurants.
- swimming. preferably in the ocean.
- psting stuff to various onine sites. I'm obsessive about checking my visitor totals at places like themestream and epinions, because it's validation for the stuff I write. Same with IQ and mailing lists and stuff.
- Seeing new things. Locations -- like daytrips and places.
- Any time at ALL in a bookstore. Any time.
- Decorating. HGTV is my friend.
- Taking pictures. I'm not so good at it yet, but I'm certainly practicing.
- Making books, though it's hard fro me to "use up" good papers that I love.
- Making artistamps. Fun, and pretty much instantaneous gratification.
- I used to really love riding my bicycle. I don't have one now, but if I did, I'd love that. And I really, REALLY want one. One of the old style, non-high-tech-non-mountain-bike-for-tough-outdoorsy-way-too-serious-for-you kinds. Just a bike. With a basket.
- Hanging out in junk shops and antique stores.
- Writing letters. I should do it more often. Email just isn't the same.
According to...well, just about everyone...if you can say what you love, you can do it. If you know yourself better, you will live better.
I need a bike and some stationery. And paint.
