method: It's all collage, covered with matte PPA, not really paying attention to composition, just content, considering the project parameters.
One one of my e-groups, we're doing something based on an Oprah show that some of the members saw where you remake your (creative) life the way you want it. The first project is making a Life Map, totally subconsiously. You just rip a bunch of images out of various magazines you have lying around the house, and put them together without thinking about it too much.
When you're done, you look over the finished result and post it somewhere so you can see it. Supposeddly, in a year you'll be surprised how much of your life map you're living.
I don't know about all of that. I do know that I was surprised by some of the recurring themes, and some of them didn't surprise me at all.
I'm llooking for comfort. For joy. For simplicity. And I really want a bike.
The bottom quote didn't scan well, but it's from some sort of shoe ad, I think. "One more woman renewing her license to dream. One more woman discovering that strength is beauty. One more womn believing in herself. One less woman walking in someone else's footsteps."
Amen, sister.
There's also this beachy, girly feel to a lot of my images. The handmade book image wasn't surprising at all -- it's my passion right now, as are journals, which this one is. The Rumi prayer mat and the buddha/yoga images aren't surprising, nor was the organization one in the middle, which is a struggle for me. The black and white parisian stairs image was a little surprising, since there was so much of a theme to the rest. Maybe I really want to travel.
In the right hand corner (upper), the quote is "life is yours to explore".
At least now, I have a map.
