method: pencil on high-tooth paper again, this time for the Historical Buildings swap.
The Mission Inn is the best place in this desert town. Eight presidents have stayed here. The guy who designed the glass pyramid at the Louvre designed a similar one for the courtyard. It's an excellent example of the fusion of different styles of architecture.
And it is one heck of a challenge to draw.
I stood on the corner by the mall, tried to get some of the people, and gave up. People looked at me as they walked by. One person asked if I did caricatures.
I'm still not sure if that was a compliment.
My fingers were black, my bones cold, and the sun was casting long shadows. I went home, second-guessed myself, and photocopied this picture before I could change my mind.
