method: pigment ink on a shipping tag, stamps by PhotoArtStamps and Anima Designs.
Blank covers annoy me. When there's a journal involved, it doubles.
My paper journals start out as plain black books, filled with emptiness and stark white pages. I wet the pages with a squeeze bottle, then put spectra tissue on the wet paper, closing it until the next day.
When I come back, the emptiness is filled with color. Even if I'm not doing anything but writing over the top of it, or sketching some little think with a rapidograph pen, there is color in my journal, and color in my life.
I get inspired by new products, new things to play with. What the scan doesn't show is the dusting of gold powder over the top of the tag that makes it sparkle.
I want to sparkle. I want to shine when I don't have to. I want to add color to an otherwise black expanse. I want to make unnecessary beauty.
I want to be unnecessary beauty.
