holy temporary cow
I have never, in all my years of working for temp agencies, had one tell me they wouldn't take my application. Nor have I ever had one tell me that there were, literally, just no jobs.

Two of them today have told me that they won't even let new people fill out applications because there's no jobs for the people applying, and one even told me that he'd let me, but he would "question the integrity" of it since what they have to offer is so ... well... nonexistent.

Two. I'm never going to find a job again and I'm going to die homeless and alone with forty-seven stray cats feeding on my eyeballs.

Maybe this was all a mistake.

Dooood.

I'm reverting to polysyllabic california slang here. But this artist is like a nightmare made visible.

heehee miss cleo
I was a phone psychic, as some of you know, but I did not work for Miss Cleo. In fact, I was a little bitter about that, since I probably would have made more money, considering the amount of relentless advertising that particular company does.

So when my friend Sandra mailed me this link about Miss Cleo in trouble, I was pretty much appalled.

Let me just say this in defense of phone psychic organizations. Yes, they're a cattle mill. One company I worked for let my ex-husband work for them after he took a whopping two hours to learn to read runes, but for the most part, you are GRILLED about your experience as a reader, and you ARE required to give the interviewer a sample reading, and let me tell you -- they aren't kind. If you're wrong, they'll tell you you're wrong, and you won't get the job. In fact, the interview I went through for the company I worked for for over a year, Tel-Star, out of New Mexico, was one of the most rigorous I've gone through.

Sounds like Miss Cleo was using some pretty unethical practices that would have never flown at a legitimate company.

Shoulda seen this coming. :)
