I keep meaning to update this “about” thing and failing miserably. But since I have a few minutes this morning while I’m waiting for the sun, I figured now was as good a time as any to try and encapsulate a Great Big Huge Life into a few sentences. (Do “about me” pages ever really give an accurate picture of the person behind the words, or do the words speak for themselves? I mean, I’m just asking.)
I’m Eliza. 37, at the time of this writing. Currently splitting my time between a small town in Iowa just outside of Omaha, NE, and the Triad area in North Carolina. Setting up all the groundwork for an eventual move in that direction; hopefully by the end of 2009 I’ll be there full-time.
While I grew up in a small town in Nebraska, I’m really from Seattle. The small town in Nebraska was for biding time and building character; it wasn’t until I was in Seattle that I found out who I was. Go figure. I just wish I’d known sooner.
By day, I’m a mild-mannered New Media/Marketing Director. By night, I transform into Miss Violet, knitting rockstar and empress of the yarny empire. Along with my co-host, Miss Lime, and our cohorts in enablement Miss Carin and the intrepid Adminnie, we do battle with the forces of darkness, dodging hairy moley men and Taco Bell vampyres. And knit a little. And talk a whole lot about boobs. I’m just sayin’.
When I’m not trying to get Lime to take off her pants (long story) or Carin to put on some freakin’ lipstick already (even longer story), I’m the creatrix and Chief Intention Officer for Intention Yarns, blender and NoseGirl for Happy Housewife Soap & Sundries (which is soon to be Oak River Township, if I can figure out this whole web-thing.), and a designer of socks and stuff. I’m launching a Project this summer for those socks, integrating it with some art journals and a whole mess o’ yarn, all based on a really fabulous road trip.
Needless to say, I’m a busy woman.
You can find me on twitter (missviolet), plurk (also missviolet), ravelry.com (uh…missviolet), and AIM (email me first). I’m elsewhere, too (skype, facebook, myspace, blah blah blah), but less often. See aforementioned “busy woman” comment.
Email me if you have any questions or suggestions on what else to put in here. :)
